Mar Saba Monastery

Mar Saba Monastery is a Greek Orthodox Monastery that overlooks Al-Qadroun Valley in Obeidiyyeh East Bethlehem. It was built between 478- 484 AD by Saint Saba and other 5000 monks.

The Monastery is considered one of the oldest inhabited monasteries in the world that preserves its long-standing traditions.

Fifteen Greek monks live in the monastery now a simple life in isolation of the civic society .
